And then I find out the only way I can play 24bit music is through my Denon Heos app to my receiver. If I click artists right now, every artist I have followed all shows the same artwork for some random album. Was shocked to see that if you are on Mac/PC and even Android, you are essentially F'd! The entire site seems to be built on Lambda functions that time out and fail often (cheap and serverless), and just doesn't work well. So they canceled me last night, and I decided to check out Amazon. Had been paying them full price since 2015, and for whatever reason they made a policy that no more discounts on Family plans at all, including ones that were already paid in full up front. I tried Amazon today, because I am at war with Tidal over them canceling a yearly subscription I already paid for. Time to test Apple next, and I hear really good things about their service, algorithms, sound quality, and library. I wish that Tidal had played along honestly because I have been there so long, its like home. Now using it through the HEOS on my Denon it sounds great, but I am not moving into the living room to work so I can have better quality music at my desk lol. Basically if something is DR13, the playback on Amazon Web sounds to be about DR5. Assuming they do this to make peoples cheap ear buds, laptops, and Logitech paper speakers sound better. It was like everything there is brickwalled and the bass and highs were compressed and accented to make the music artifically sound bigger. It's gotta be the same free library that Tidal was using prior to last year, where everything sounded super compressed. Worse, the web codec is absolute garbage. Also their Algorithm for streaming was not so great, it was mismatching the genre. Their free MP3 account sounds better (aside from transients), than the Amazon did at 16/44.1. Yeah it's so bad i am currently listening to the Tidal free and dealing with the ads/low res, because I couldn't stand what was going on over there.
